  • A fire on Princess Cruises' Star Princess results in one death, and thirteen injuries. 79 cabins are condemned, another 218 are damaged by fire, smoke, and water. The fire in a balcony results in Carnival Cruises replacing 26,400 balcony partitions on 81 ships, and a change in proceduces in many cruise ship companies. [73.42]
