  • General Foods puts Mickey Mouse on the Post Toasties cereal box, making Mickey Mouse the first licensed character to appear on a cereal box. General Foods paid US$1.5 million for this right for a year. [245.46]
  • Hollywood Film Enterprises begins selling 25-foot (one minute) length films in 16-mm format, created from Disney cartoons, for use in hand-crank toy projectors. (Later films are up to 400 feet (12 minutes), and switched to 8-mm format by the early 1940s, and made until about 1950.) [321.80]
  • The British Art Workers Guild elects Walt Disney an Honorary member. [96.25]
  • Roy Disney reluctantly agrees to accept US$400,000 investment from Joe Schenck (brother of owner of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), in exchange for one-third interest in Walt Disney Productions. The money is needed for Walt to produce a cartoon feature film. (Before signing the contract, Schenck encounters financial difficulties and the deal is cancelled.) [267.98]
