  • 2002 - The Communist New People's Army blows up a bust of Ferdinand Marcos in Benguet, Philippines.
  • 2002 - In Cincinnati, Ohio, the Cinergy Field stadium is demolished.

  • 2020 - The 2020 Petrinja earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 strikes Croatia, killing seven and injuring more than 20.

  • 2022 - New government takes office in Israel, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.
  • 2022 - Death of Pelé AKA Edson Arantes do Nascimento at age 82 of multiple organ failure from colon cancer in a hospital in São Paulo, Brazil; soccer star (New York Cosmos, Brazilian national team, three World Cup victories, 1279 goals in 1353 matches, three World Cup wins).
