- 15th: 2009 - STX Europe in Turku, Finland, delivers the world's largest cruise ship, the Oasis of the Seas to Royal Caribbean International. The ship is 361 metres long, 66 metres wide and rises 72 metres above sea level. The gross tonnage is 225,000, and can accomodate 6,360 passengers and 2,100 crew members.
