It features a 33 MHz 32-bit MIPS R3000A processor, with special audio and graphics functions integrated, geometry coprocessor, 2 MB RAM, 1 MB video RAM. Graphics resolution is 640x480 in 24-bit color. Price is 39800 yen, about US$399.
  • 30th: 1994 - Birth of Jake T. Austin, American actor (Go Diego Go, Wizards of Waverly Place).
  • 25th: 1999 - After rowing for 81 days and 2,962 nautical miles (5486 km), Tori Murden crosses the Atlantic Ocean by rowboat alone, when she reaches Guadeloupe from the Canary Islands.
  • 25th: 1999 - NASA loses radio contact with the Mars Polar Lander, moments before the spacecraft enters the Martian atmosphere.
  • 25th: 1999 - Death of Jarl Wahlström, Salvation Army general (born 1918).
  • 25th: 1999 - Death of Madeline Kahn at age 57 of ovarian cancer in New York, USA; actress (Oh Madeline, Cosby, New York News).
  • 20th: 2004 - The Colombian government extradites Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela to the United States. Orejuela is one of the most powerful drug dealers in the world, arrested in 1995 and 2003.
  • 15th: 2009 - Comcast announces a deal to buy a 51 percent stake in NBC Universal from General Electric, for US$6.5 billion in cash, its own cable TV networks (E!, Versus, the Golf Channel and 10 regional sports networks) and other assets.
  • 5th: 2019 - Google founders Serget Brin and Larry Page steo down as president and chief executive, respectively, of Alphabet.
