  • 25th: 1999 - The Cleveland Indians score 18 runs in the final three innings to overcome a 9-1 deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 20-11.
  • 25th: 1999 - Universal releases the film The Mummy to theaters.
  • 25th: 1999 - In Guinea-Bissau, President João Bernardo Vieira is ousted in a military coup.
  • 20th: 2004 - Royal Caribbean International christens new cruise ship Jewel of the Seas in Southampton, England.
  • 15th: 2009 - Los Angeles Dodgers' outfielder Manny Ramirez is suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for a banned substance.
  • 15th: 2009 - The U.S. Federal Reserve reports that ten of the biggest 19 banks in the U.S. do not have adequate capital reserves in case the economy worsens, and must raise a total of US$75 billion by the end of 2010. The worst is Bank of America, requiring US$34 billion.
  • 15th: 2009 - The Boston Red Sox break an 84-year-old American League record by scoring 12 runs in an inning in a game against the Cleveland Indians.
