  • 15th: 2009 - In Spa, Belgium, round 12 of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship is won by Kimi Räikkönen.
  • 15th: 2009 - In Indianapolis, USA, round 12 of the FIM MotoGP Championship is won by Jorge Lorenzo.
  • 15th: 2009 - Japan's Democratic Party of Japan win a landslide general election over the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, 308 seats to 119, throwing out the party after almost 50 years of rule. New prime minister will be Yukio Hatoyama.
