  • 60th: 1964 - NBC-TV debuts TV show The Man From U.N.C.L.E., starring Robert Vaughn. U.N.C.L.E. stands for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.
  • 60th: 1964 - Birth of Marq Torien; rocker (Bullet Boys - "For the Love of Money").
  • 40th: 1984 - Disney's board of directors meets to vote on filling executive positions. They vote unanimously to hire Michael Eisner as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Ray Watson, and Frank Wells as President and Chief Operating Officer. Eisner's contract gives him US$750,000 per year, US$750,000 signing bonus, annual bonus two percent above company net growth of nine percent, and over two million share options at US$14.359 each. Wells' contract gives him US$400,000 per year, US$250,000 signing bonus, annual bonus equal to fifty percent of Eisner's, and options on 460,000 shares.
  • 30th: 1994 - NBC-TV premieres the sitcom Friends.
  • 25th: 1999 - Death of George Campbell Scott at age 71 of a ruptured aortic aneurism; actor (Patton (1977), East Side, West Side).
  • 20th: 2004 - In the USA, ABC airs the premiere of the TV series Lost.
  • 20th: 2004 - CBS-owned television stations are fined a total of $550,000 by the FCC for showing Janet Jackson's exposed right breast during the football Super Bowl halftime show.
  • 20th: 2004 - CBS airs the first episode of TV show CSI: New York.
  • 10th: 2014 - The United States and several Arab partners begin their airstrike campaign in Syria.
