Personal Computer history:

  • 1985 - John Sculley agrees to allow some Macintosh technology in Microsoft's Windows in return for Bill Gates delaying release of Excel for Windows.
  • 1994 - Uruguay issues a 2-peso postage stamp for the 50th anniversary of the Uruguayan Press Association, showing a personal computer.
  • 1999 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A personal computer is used to write a letter.
  • 2003 - Apple Computer releases Mac OS X 10.3 operating system. Code-name during development was Panther.
Video Game history:

  • 1984 - In New York City, the Electronic Games Design Awards (Arkies) are presented to top 27 computer, video, educational, standalone, and arcade games of 1984, as selected by readers of Electronic Games magazine.
  • 2005 - Nintendo releases the Metroid Prime Pinball video game for the Nintendo DS in the US.
  • 2006 - Sega releases the Phantasy Star Universe video game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 in the US.
  • 2006 - Capcom releases the Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded video game for the PlayStation Portable in the USA. Price is US$29.99. Includes 15 games: Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Championship Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fightiung, Ghosts 'N Goblins, Commando, Knights of The Round, 1942, 1943.
  • 2006 - Namco Bandai releases the .hack//G.U. Vol. 1//Rebirth video game for the PlayStation 2 in the US.
  • 2007 - In London, England, the British Academy Video Games Awards are announced:
    • Best sports game: Wii Sports;
    • Best gameplay: Wii Sports;
    • Best innovation: Wii Sports;
    • Best strategy: Wii Sports;
    • Best game: BioShock;
    • Best action and adventure: Crackdown;
    • Best use of audio: Crackdown;
    • Best story and character: God of War 2;
    • Best technical achievement: God of War 2.

  • 2011 - Nintendo releases the Pokémon Rumble Blast video game for the Nintendo 3DS in the US.
  • 2014 - Nintendo releases the Bayonetta 2 video game for the Wii U in the USA.
  • 2017 - Sony Interactive Entertainment releases the Hidden Agenda video game for the PlayStation 4 in the USA.
