Personal Computer history:

  • 1984 - Jack Tramiel decides to resign from Commodore International.
  • 2000 - Microsoft settles its four-year legal battle with Caldera. Terms of the settlement are not made public.
  • 2002 - Royal Consumer Information Products announces the Royal Lin@x handheld computer. It features 206 MHz Intel StrongARM processor, Linux operating system, color screen, CompactFlash Type II slot, MP3 player, serial port, USB port. Price is to be US$299 when available in the US by mid-year.
  • 2005 - In San Francisco, California, the Macworld Conference and Expo trade show is held, over five days.
  • 2006 - Advanced Micro Devices releases the Athlon 64 FX-60 processor. Price is US$999 in 1000-unit quantities.
Video Game history:

  • 2002 - Sega releases the Rez video game for the PlayStation 2 in the US.
  • 2005 - Nintendo releases The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap video game for the Game Boy Advance in the US.
  • 2006 - Capcom releases the Mega Man X Collection video game for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube in the US.
