  • 1995 - IBM, Apple Computer, and Hewlett-Packard dissolve Taligent Inc.
  • 1995 - Apple Computer ships a beta test version of its "Copland" operating system to 50 key application developers.
  • 1995 - Apple Computer abandons release of Dylan programming language due to the success of Java.
  • 1997 - The COMDEX trade show is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, over five days. 4718 exhibitors and 519,000 visitors attend.
  • 1998 - SyQuest Technology suspends its operations, and files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
  • 2002 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A personal computer appears.
  • 2008 - Valve releases the Left 4 Dead game for personal computers.
  • 2008 - Intel releases the Core i7 processor. It features four processing cores, 64 KB L2 cache per core, 256 KB L2 cache, 45-nanometer circuitry, shared 8 MB L3 cache, 731 million transistors, 262 mm2 area. Code name during development was "Nehalem". Model i7-920 Extreme is 2.66 GHz and sells for US$284 in 1000-unit quantities. Model i7-940 is 2.93 GHz and sells for US$562 in 1000-unit quantities. Model i7-965 Extreme is 3.2 GHz and sells for US$999 in 1000-unit quantities.

  • 1995 - Sega releases the Sonic Labyrinth video game for the Game Gear in the US.
  • 2002 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. The Pokémon character Pikachu appears.
  • 2003 - Nintendo releases the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance in the US.
  • 2003 - Microsoft Games releases the Project Gotham Racing 2 video game for the Xbox in the US. Price is US$49.99.
  • 2003 - Midway releases the Midway Arcade Treasures video game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in the US.
  • 2003 - Nintendo releases the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! video game for the GameCube in the US.
  • 2004 - Activision releases the Call of Duty: Finest Hour video game for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox in the US.
  • 2004 - Konami releases the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater video game for the PlayStation 2 in the US.
  • 2006 - Sony releases the PlayStation 3 video game system in the USA. Price is $499 with 20GB hard drive, or $599 with 60GB hard drive.
  • 2006 - Activision releases the Call of Duty 3 video game for the PlayStation 3 in the USA.
  • 2006 - Electronic Arts releases the Need for Speed Carbon video game for the PlayStation 3 in the USA.
  • 2006 - Sony Online Entertainment releases the Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom video game for the PlayStation 3 in the US.
  • 2006 - EA Sports releases the Madden NFL 07 video game for the PlayStation 3 in the US.
  • 2006 - 2K Sports releases the NBA 2K7 video game for the PlayStation 3 in the US.
