Personal Computer history:

  • 1983 - Texas Instruments cuts the dealer price on the TI 99/4A, dropping the retail price to under US$150.
  • 1999 - Free-PC announces it will give away a free Compaq computer to 10,000 applicants willing to sacrifice a part of the screen's viewing area to advertising.
Video Game history:

  • 1982 - Walter Day releases the first Twin Galaxies National Scoreboard to the public, recording video game high scores.
  • 1982 - Council of Bradley, Illinois, bars children under 16 from playing video arcade games.
  • 1998 - The Official Video Game and Pinball Book of World Records is published. 984 pages, including records since 1981.
  • 1999 - Nintendo releases the Mario Party video game for the Nintendo 64 in the US.
  • 2000 - CBS Television airs the Judging Amy TV show in the USA. A Nintendo 64 is being played without a cartridge plugged in.
