Personal Computer history:
- 1989 - The Spring COMDEX trade show is held, in Chicago, Illinois.
- 1989 - At the Comdex show, Intel announces the 25 MHz i486 microprocessor. It integrates the 386, 387 math coprocessor, and adds an 8 kB primary cache. It uses 1.2 million transistors, employing 1-micron technology. Initial price is US$900. Speed is 20 MIPS. Bus speed is 25 MHz.
- 1989 - At the Comdex show, Intel introduces the 33 MHz version of the 80386DX microprocessor and 80387 math co-processor. This version of the 387 incorporates new technology, making it inherently faster than previous 387 chips.
- 1989 - At Comdex, Toshiba America shows a working prototype of the Toshiba T-5200 portable computer, with a 11-inch diagonal 16-color 640x480 pixel LCD display.
Video Game history:
- 1991 - A Federal Trade Commission investigation of Nintendo is made public. The focus was on allegations of price-fixing. It is announced that Nintendo had signed a consent decree, agreeing to not fix prices or punish retailers who lower suggested prices. Nintendo agrees to mail out $5 coupons to buyers of Nintendo Entertainment Systems between June 1, 1988 and December 30, 1990, toward future Nintendo merchandise.
- 1995 - Midway Amusement Games releases the Mortal Kombat 3 video game Version 1.0 to arcades in the US.
- 1998 - Nintendo releases the Yoshi's Story video game for the Nintendo 64 in the UK.
- 2020 - Square Enix releases the Final Fantasy VII Remake video game for the PlayStation 4 in the USA.
