- 1977 - An attorney for MITS denies Microsoft's charges, claiming MITS is up-to-date on royalty payments, and did not have to license 8080 BASIC to competitors.
- 1983 - Mattel Electronics introduces the Aquarius computer, with 4 kB RAM, 8 kB ROM, Z80A processor, 40x24 text output to a TV, 80x72 block graphics, in 16 colors. Price is US$160.
- 1988 - Tandy announces THOR-CD, an erasable re-usable compact disk system for music, video, or data. Delivery of production units is 18 to 24 months away.
- 1988 - Tandy announces the Tandy 5000MC personal computer, featuring an 80386 processor and IBM's Micro Channel bus. Price is US$4999-6999.
- 1997 - In the lawsuit of Intel versus Advanced Micro Devices, Advanced Micro Devices agrees to a settlement, agreeing to acknowledge the term "MMX" as an Intel trademark, and receives the right to use it for marketing its K6 processors as "MMX(R) Enhanced".
- 2003 - Intel releases the 3 GHz Pentium 4 processor with 800 MHz front-side bus. Price is US$417 in 1000-unit quantities. The previously discovered problem is resolved by a software patch.
- 2006 - Korea issues a postage stamp depicting a personal computer.
Video Game history:
- 2000 - SonicTeam is founded in Tokyo, Japan.
- 2005 - Nintendo releases the Nintendo DS handheld video game system in Japan in two new case colors: Turquoise Black and Candy Pink.
- 2005 - Nintendo releases the Nintendogs video game for the Nintendo DS in Japan.
