- 1982 - Sinclair Research introduces the Sinclair ZX Spectrum at the Earls Court Computer Fair in London, England. It features 3.54 MHz Zilog Z80A processor, 32x24 text, 256x192 8-color graphics, 1 channel 5 octave sound. Price for 16 kB RAM version is 125 pounds, or 48 kB RAM version for 175 pounds.
- 1996 - Microsoft releases the Internet Explorer 2.0 web browser for the Macintosh, on systems running System 7.0.1 or higher.
- 2001 - Intel releases the 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 processor. Price is US$294 in quantities of 1000.
- 2001 - Intel releases the 1.7 GHz Pentium 4 processor. Price is US$352 in quantities of 1000.
- 2007 - The April 23 issue of Business Week magazine shows an office with a computer shown running "SOLITAIRE", a reference to the game included with Microsoft Windows.
Video Game history:
- 1992 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show. A convenience store includes two arcade video game systems.
- 1993 - Hudson releases the Lords of Thunder video game for the PC Engine in Japan.
- 1998 - The National Broadcasting Company airs the Seinfeld TV show in the USA. One of the plot lines revolves around transporting a Frogger arcade machine from a closing-out business, without losing the high score record. The arcade machine is taken across a street, back and forth like playing the game.
