- 1976 - Hewlett-Packard grants a release to Steve Wozniak for his Apple computer.
- 1977 - MITS files for a restraining order against Microsoft, to prevent Microsoft from licensing 8080 BASIC until the dispute with MITS is resolved.
- 1988 - WordPerfect ships WordPerfect 5.0 for US$500.
- 1999 - IBM unveils the IBM WorkPad z50 handheld computer. It features Windows CE, 64,000-color 8.2-inch LCD screen, NEC MIPS 133 MHz processor, 20 MB ROM, 16 MB RAM, keyboard, 33 kbps modem, 8-hour battery life. Weight is 2.6 pounds; price is US$999.
- 1999 - National Semiconductor announces its intention to sells its Cyrix division.
- 1999 - Macao issues two postage stamps with a telecommunictions theme, depicting the Internet, and a computer mouse.
Video Game history:
- 1951 - In London, England, Ferranti shows the Nimrod computer at the Festival of Britain exhibition. The computer is based on the Mark 1, and is dedicated to playing the game Nim. This makes it the world's first games computer.
- 1994 - Nintendo confirms its Project Reality video game system will be cartridge-based.
- 1996 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. Two arcade games are shown: "Great White Hunter", and "Nuke".
- 2004 - Activision releases the Shrek 2 video game for the GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, and Xbox in the US.
- 2006 - Nintendo announces there will be over 30 game titles available for the Wii within the launch window.
- 2017 - Bethesda releases the Prey video game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the USA.
