Personal Computer history:

  • 1983 - Texas Instruments announces that poor sales of TI 99/4A computers, software, and peripherals would result in a second quarter loss of US$100 million.
  • 1985 - Lotus Development completes its acquisition of Software Arts, and announces it has decided to end production of Visicalc.
  • 1986 - IBM and Microsoft sign a Joint Development Agreement on operating system software development.
  • 2002 - Palm announces it has shipped Palm OS 5 to developers.
  • 2002 - Advanced Micro Devices releases the 1.8 GHz Athlon XP 2200+ processor, based on a 0.13-micron process. Price is US$241 in 1000-unit quantities. Code-name during development was Thoroughbred.
Video Game history:

  • 1992 - Capcom releases the Street Fighter II Championship Edition arcade video game in the US.
  • 2005 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Fairly Oddparents TV show in the US. A handheld video game system appears, like the Nintendo Game Boy, but called "FUN BOY". An arcade video game machine appears, as an example of "fun". A video game arcade building appears.
