- 1991 - Intel announces a temporary halt to production of the 50 MHz 486DX processor, due to problems in manufacturing and testing.
- 1995 - In the first four days of its release, one million copies of Windows 95 have been sold.
- 1998 - Advanced Micro Devices releases the 350 MHz K6-2 processor. Price is US$317 in 1000-unit quantities.
- 2001 - Intel releases the 1.9 GHz and 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 processors. Prices are US$375 and US$562 respectively in quantities of 1000.
- 2007 - Acer of Taiwan announces it will buy Gateway of the USA for US$710 million.
Video Game history:
- 1997 - Sony releases the Dual Analog controller for the PlayStation in the US.
- 1999 - In Tokyo, Japan, the Space World '99 show is held. Nintendo reveals the 64DD, an attachment to the Nintendo 64 allowing storage of game data and access to the Internet.
- 2002 - Sony releases the PS2 Network Adapter for the PlayStation 2 in the US. Price is US$39.99.
- 2002 - Sony CEA releases the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs video game for the PlayStation 2 in the US. Price is US$59.99.
- 2004 - After 17 years in business, Acclaim Entertainment shuts down operations due to inability to secure financing.
- 2007 - Nintendo releases the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption video game for the Nintendo Wii in the US.
