  • 1927 - Disney ships the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit film Neck 'n' Neck to Winkler Productions.
  • 1929 - The Mickey Mouse film Mickey's Choo-Choo is completed.
  • 1932 - The Silly Symphony film Bugs in Love is released to theaters.
  • 1960 - The Dixieland at Disneyland evening concert show is first held at Disneyland, at the Rivers of American in Fontierland.
  • 1961 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, featuring The Horsemasters, part one.
  • 1966 - The National Association of Theatre Owners makes their first award presentation, naming Walt Disney "Showman of the World".
  • 1971 - At 10:00 AM, the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort opens in Orlando, Florida. Similar to Disneyland, six themed areas are Main Street, U.S.A; Adventureland; Fantasyland; Frontierland; Liberty Square; and Tomorrowland. Attendance on opening day is 10,422. First guests to enter the park are William Windsor Junior, wife Mary, and sons Jay and Lee. The day, a Friday, was chosen as the likely slowest day of the week and slowest time of the year for tourists in Florida. Organizers did not want a repeat of the mass crowds during the opening day of Disneyland. Cost of creating the theme park was US$400 million.
  • 1971 - The Walt Disney World Railroad attraction opens in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It includes three locomotives: the Walter E. Disney (#1), the Lilly Belle (#2), and the Roger E. Broggie (#3).
  • 1971 - In the Main Street, U.S.A. area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Fire Truck, Horse-Drawn Streetcars, Horseless Carriages, Town Square Cafe, Market House store, Camera Center shop, Jitney vehicle, Coca-Cola Refreshment Corner, House of Magic shop, Penny Arcade, Main Street Confectionery shop, Emporium store, Main Street Bake Shop, New Century Clock Shop, Main Street Cinema, Chapeau shop, Omnibus vehicle.
  • 1971 - In the Adventureland area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Adventureland Veranda restaurant, Swiss Family Tree House, Jungle Cruise, Sunshine Pavilion, Tropical Serenade.
  • 1971 - In the Fantasyland area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Dumbo Flying Elephants, Mad Tea Party, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Mickey Mouse Revue, It's a Small World, Skyway to Tomorrowland transportation.
  • 1971 - In the Frontierland area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Country Bear Jamboree, Frontier Shooting Gallery, Frontier Trading Post shop, Pecos Bill Cafe, Mike Fink Keel Boats, Mile Long Bar, Diamond Horseshoe Revue, Davy Crocket Explorer Canoes.
  • 1971 - In the Liberty Square area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Hall of Presidents, Columbia Harbor House restaurant, Heritage House shop Liberty Tree Tavern, Haunted Mansion.
  • 1971 - In the Tomorrowland area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, opening day attractions are: Skyway to Fantasyland, Grand Prix Raceway, Mickey's Mart shop, Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant.
  • 1971 - King Stefan's Banquet Hall restaurant opens in Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Crystal Palace Restaurant opens in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Monorail system opens at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Fort Wilderness Resort campground opens at Walt Disney World, on the south shore of Bay Lake. It occupies 640 acres of forest.
  • 1971 - Disney's Contemporary Resort hotel opens at Walt Disney World, on the west shore of Bay Lake. It has 1046 rooms, and the monorail passes through its interior.
  • 1971 - The Top of the World restaurant opens in the Contemporary Resort hotel at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Gulf Coast Room restaurant opens in the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - Disney's Polynesian Village Resort hotel opens at Walt Disney World, on the south shore of Seven Seas Lagoon.
  • 1971 - The Captain Cook's Hideaway lounge opens at Disney's Polynesian Resort.
  • 1971 - The Coral Isle Cafe restaurant opens in the Great Ceremonial House of the Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Papeete Bay Verandah restaurant opens in the Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World.
  • 1971 - The Market House store opens on Main Street at Disneyland.
  • 1971 - The Magnolia Course golf course opens at Walt Disney World.

  • 1972 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, entitled The Nashville Coyote.
  • 1974 - The name of the Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad attraction in Disneyland is shortened to Disneyland Railroad.
  • 1980 - Dominica issues ten postage stamps depicting scenes from Peter Pan.
  • 1981 - Ten years after opening, total attendance at Walt Disney World is 126 million.
  • 1981 - The Tencennial Parade begins performances in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1981 - The TV special Florida's Disney Decade airs, in Florida.
  • 1982 - EPCOT Center opens, at Walt Disney World in Florida. It has two main sections, Future World, and World Showcase. It cost more than US$1.2 billion to build. Disney Chairman and CEO E. Cardon Walker performs the dedication. The song "The World Showcase March" is performed and danced to.
  • 1982 - The Future World area of EPCOT Center opens in Walt Disney World. It includes Journey into Imagination, and The Land.
  • 1982 - The Journey into Imagination pavilion opens in Future World in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the Image Works area, and the Magic Eye Theater showing the 3-D film Magic Journeys.
  • 1982 - The Land pavilion, sponsored by Kraft, opens in Future World in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the Listen to the Land attraction, Tomorrow's Harvest tour, the Farmers Market food court, the Kitchen Kabaret audio-animatronic show, the Harvest Theatre showing the film Symbiosis, and the Good Turn Restaurant.
  • 1982 - The World Showcase area of EPCOT Center opens in Walt Disney World. It includes pavilions for countries Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, United Kingdom, and USA (The American Adventure).
  • 1982 - The Canada pavilion opens in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the Circle-Vision 360 film O Canada!, the Northwest Mercantile Trading Post shop and Le Cellier restaurant.
  • 1982 - The China pavilion opens in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the Circle-Vision 360 film Wonders of China.
  • 1982 - The France pavilion opens in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the film Impressions de France, the Plume et Palette shop, the Boulangerie Patisserie pastry shop, La Maison du Vin shop, Les Chefs de France restaurant, and the Au Petit Café restaurant.

  • 1986 - The syndicated TV special Walt Disney's Wet and Wild airs.
  • 1988 - Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort hotel opens in Walt Disney World.

  • 1993 - The Backstage Magic show in Epcot Computer Control at Walt Disney World closes.
  • 1993 - Buena Vista releases the Walt Disney Pictures live-action feature film Cool Runnings to theaters in the US.
  • 1994 - The name of Euro Disneyland is officially changed to Disneyland Paris.
  • 1995 - The Disney Channel U.K. begins television broadcasting in the British Isles, as a subscription-only channel.
  • 1995 - The Fox TV network begins airing the series Misery Loves Company.
  • 1995 - Disney's Vero Beach Resort opens in Florida, part of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. This is Disney's first oceanfront resort, and first vacation destination not built at a theme park.
  • 1996 - Canada issues a postage stamp depicting Winnie the Pooh at Walt Disney World, for the 25th anniversary of the park.
  • 1996 - The Barnstormer roller coaster opens in Goofy's Wiseacres Farm in Mickey's Toontown Fair at Walt Disney World.
  • 1997 - Sierra Leone issues sixteen postage stamps depicting Disney characters and Christmas themes.
  • 1999 - The Walt Disney World Millenium Celebration begins, which will run for fifteen months.

  • 2001 - The Tapestry of Dreams parade premieres in Epcot.
  • 2005 - Robert Iger takes over as CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
