  • 1953 - Disney releases the animated film Football Now and Then to theaters.
  • 1957 - The ABC TV network airs the Disneyland TV show, featuring the first "Saga of Andy Burnett" episode, Andy's Initiation.
  • 1959 - The Rainbow Ridge Pack Mules attraction at Disneyland closes for re-modelling.
  • 1959 - The ABC TV network airs the Walt Disney Presents TV show, featuring Moochie of the Little League, part one.
  • 1966 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, featuring Savage Sam, part one.
  • 1971 - The Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat begins operation in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1981 - The live stage show Disney World is Your World begins performances on the Tomorrowland Stage in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1987 - The Walt Disney Company debuts Disney Dollars in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. The same $1 and $5 bills are used as in Disneyland.
  • 1989 - The Disney channel begins airing Teen Angel Returns on the Mickey Mouse Club.
  • 1992 - The California Court of Appeals upholds a court decision of 1988 awarding Peggy Lee US$3.2 million for her role in the film Lady and the Tramp. The amount includes royalties from sales of videotapes, and damages for breach of contract.
  • 1992 - Disney releases the Walt Disney Pictures live-action feature film The Mighty Ducks to theaters.
  • 1994 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. This episode contains dozens of Disney theme park and film references:
    • the episode title "Itchy & Scratchy Land" (Disneyland),
    • the theme park tag line "The Violentest Place on Earth" (The Happiest Place on Earth),
    • "Parents Island" (Pleasure Island),
    • parking lot sections named after animated characters,
    • inside main gate is a train ride through the park,
    • the ticket booth shows a list of "rides not operating today",
    • "Itchy & Scratchy Money" (Disney Dollars),
    • monorail ride through the park,
    • park map showing four themed "lands",
    • Itchy & Scratchy Cinema is showing "Steamboat Itchy" (Steamboat Willie),
    • the park features "state of the art animatronic robots" (Audio-Animatronics),
    • a log ride through fake scenic area includes gentle banjo music and an extreme drop (Splash Mountain),
    • workers in character costumes interacting with guests,
    • "Parents Island" includes a place where it is "constantly New Year's Eve",
    • "The Roger Meyers Story" attraction shows a film of the creator (The Walt Disney Story),
    • an old film shows kids wearing mouse-ear hats (Mouseketeers),
    • a film notes criticism for a Nazi cartoon (Der Fuehrer's Face),
    • mentions and shows "full-length musical Scratchtasia" (Fantasia),
    • the park has a similar-looking Penny Arcade,
    • musical parade through the park street (Main Street Electrical Parade),
    • shows part of film "Pin-Itchy-o" (Pinocchio),
    • park control facilities are underground,
    • park has a similar fire department,
    • a statue of founder and main characters (Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse statue),
    • park shows a mountain (Matterhorn),

    • references made to "Euro Itchy & Scratchy Land" not doing well (Euro Disneyland).

  • 1995 - Grenada issues eight postage stamps depicting scenes from Mickey's High Sea Adventure.
  • 1995 - Grenada Grenadines issues eight postage stamps depicting various Disney characters seeking pirate treasure.
  • 1996 - The Buy the Book shop opens on New York Street at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World. Formerly The Costume Shop.
  • 2001 - The ABC TV network premieres the Bob Patterson TV show.
  • 2005 - (to October 6) Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper host the Fifth Annual Film Festival At Sea aboard the Disney Wonder.
  • 2007 - The ABC TV network premieres the Cavemen series.
  • 2008 - Carolwood Records is created as part of the Disney Music Group, and located in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • 2008 - Disney releases the film Beverly Hills Chihuahua to theaters in Australia.
  • 2010 - Last live stage performance of High School Musical 3: Senior Year in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
