  • 1925 - The Iris Theater in Los Angeles previews the Alice Comedy film Alice in the Jungle.
  • 1930 - The Mickey Mouse film The Picnic is released to theaters.
  • 1931 - The Silly Symphony film The Spider and the Fly is released to theaters.
  • 1940 - Igor Stravinsky sells the film rights to Disney for "Renard", "Fireworks", and "The Firebird".
  • 1941 - RKO Radio Pictures releases Disney's animated feature film Dumbo to theaters. It cost US$812,000 to make.
  • 1942 - The Goofy film How to Swim is released to theaters.
  • 1953 - The Donald Duck film Rugged Bear is released. Humphrey Bear makes his first appearance.
  • 1957 - The ABC TV network airs the Disneyland TV show, entitled Duck for Hire, with Donald Duck.
  • 1959 - The ABC TV network airs the Walt Disney Presents TV show, featuring the first "The Swamp Fox" episode, Birth of the Swamp Fox.
  • 1966 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, entitled Gallegher Goes West: Showdown with the Sundown Kid.
  • 1971 - A three-day gala Grand Opening ceremony begins at Walt Disney World. Arthur Fiedler conducts the World Symphony Orchestra, formed by musicians from 60 countries, playing to 2500 invited guests. 40,000 visitors to the park on the first day.
  • 1973 - The ABC TV network airs Wide World of Entertainment, including Walt Disney - A Golden Anniversary Salute.
  • 1982 - The Le Carnival de Lumière nighttime show debuts on World Showcase Lagoon.
  • 1982 - The Sunrise Terrace Restaurant opens in Communicore West at EPCOT Center.
  • 1982 - The CBS TV network airs the Walt Disney show, entitled EPCOT Center: The Opening Ceremonies.
  • 1985 - The Nine Dragons Restaurant opens in the China pavilion in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World.
  • 1990 - Disney announces the formation of the limited partnership Touchwood Pacific Partners I, a group of Japanese banks and investment firms. The group will provide financing for Disney live-action films in the coming years, sharing in risks and profits.
  • 1992 - The Superior Court of California rules that Disney can use the MGM name and the lion logo at its theme parks.
  • 1994 - The Fox TV network airs the last episode of the Disney TV show Hardball.
  • 1998 - Warner releases the Walt Disney Pictures live-action feature film Air Bud to theaters in Great Britain.
  • 1998 - Buena Vista releases the Miramax live-action feature film Halloween:H20 to theaters in Great Britain.
  • 2001 - Disney releases the film Dumbo on DVD and videocassette. This edition has been digitally restored and remastered. Included with the film is the animated short Silly Symphony film The Flying Mouse.
