  • 1940 - RKO Radio Pictures world premieres Disney's third animated feature film, Fantasia, at New York's Broadway Theater. The film introduces stereophonic sound to motion pictures via a special sound system called Fantasound. The film cost US$2.28 million to make. This is Mickey Mouse' feature film debut, in the segment The Sorcerer's Apprentice. This 10.5 minute segment alone cost US$125,000 to make.
  • 1957 - The ABC TV network airs the Disneyland TV show, entitled To the South Pole for Science.
  • 1959 - The ABC TV network airs the Walt Disney Presents TV show, featuring the seventh "Elfego Baca" episode, Move Along, Mustangers.
  • 1960 - The ABC TV network airs the Walt Disney Presents TV show, entitled Donald's Silver Anniversary.
  • 1966 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, entitled Ranger's Guide to Nature.
  • 1978 - A special Amtrak train carrying Mickey Mouse and Ward Kimball leaves Los Angeles for a five-day trip to New York.
  • 1984 - The CBS TV network airs the one-hour live-action show Donald Duck's 50th Birthday.
  • 1988 - The NBC TV network airs the special Mickey's 60th Birthday, featuring John Ritter and Carl Reiner.
  • 1991 - The animated feature film Beauty and the Beast premieres in theaters in New York City.
  • 1994 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A hockey team has the name "Mighty Pigs", with pig logo in style similar to Disney's The Mighty Ducks hockey team.
  • 1997 - The Lion King musical play opens at the New Amsterdam theater in New York.
  • 1998 - Azerbaijan issues ten postage stamps for the World Rapid Chess Championship, depicting Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto.
  • 1999 - The El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, California, hosts the premiere of the film Toy Story 2.
  • 2000 - Disney premieres the live-action feature film 102 Dalmatians in New York City.
  • 2007 - The ABC TV network airs the final Cavemen episode.
  • 2009 - Space Mountain at Walt Disney World re-opens after seven months renovations, for a few hours per day for fine tuning.
  • 2013 - The live musical play Aladdin opens at the Ed Mirvish Theater in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
