- 1998 - The Kona Café restaurant opens in the Great Ceremonial House of the Polynesian Village Resort of Walt Disney World. Formerly the Coral Isle Cafe.

- 2000 - In New York City, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is held. A new Mickey Mouse balloon debuts, wearing the Mouseketeer bandleader outfit and carrying a baton. The balloon is 66 feet long, 40 feet high, and 35 feet wide.
- 2003 - Disney premieres the live-action feature film The Haunted Mansion at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California.
