  • 1929 - The partnership of Walt Disney Studios is incorporated and renamed to Walt Disney Productions, Limited. Walt and Lillian own 60 percent of the total 10,000 shares; Roy owns 40 percent.
  • 1929 - Disney Film Recording Company, Limited is created as a subsidiary of Walt Disney Productions.
  • 1929 - Walt and Roy Disney set up Walt Disney Enterprises, a division of the company for handling Disney merchandising.
  • 1929 - Liled Realty and Investment Company is created, to own real estate used by the other two Disney corporations.
  • 1929 - The Silly Symphony The Merry Dwarfs is released to theaters.
  • 1930 - Disney completes the Silly Symphony film Playful Pan.
  • 1949 - The Donald Duck film Toy Tinkers is released. Chip and Dale also appear.
  • 1952 - Walt Disney incorporates the WED Enterprises company, to develop ideas for a "family park" to be called "Disneyland".
  • 1959 - Disney initially releases the True-Life Adventure film Jungle Cat to theaters.
  • 1959 - Disney releases the live-action featurette documentary film Mysteries of the Deep to theaters.
  • 1962 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, entitled Hurricane Hannah.
  • 1964 - Disney releases the live-action short film The Tattooed Police Horse to theaters.
  • 1964 - Buena Vista releases Disney's live-action feature film Emil and the Detectives to theaters. The film was made in West Germany, and is based on a book by Erich Kastner.
  • 1966 - A private funeral service is held by Walt Disney's immediate family at Little Church of the Flowers of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Glendale, California.
  • 1973 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, entitled The Proud Bird from Shanghai.
  • 1974 - Disney premieres the live-action feature film The Island at the Top of the World in selected theaters in England.
  • 1977 - Buena Vista generally releases the film Pete's Dragon to theaters.
  • 1977 - Buena Vista premieres the live-action feature film Candleshoe in Los Angeles, California. The film is based on the book Christmas at Candleshoe by Michael Innes.
  • 1978 - Disney first releases some films on videodisc.
  • 1978 - Disney releases the animated short film The Small One to theaters. This is the first release of animation created with a new group of Disney animators. The film is based on a story by Charles Tazewell.
  • 1979 - The TV show Major Effects airs.
  • 1983 - Disney releases the animated short film Mickey's Christmas Carol in the US.
  • 1983 - Disney re-releases the film The Rescuers to theaters.
  • 1989 - The One Man's Dream show begins performances at the Videopolis in Disneyland.
  • 1990 - The Commisary restaurant opens at Disney-MGM Studios in Walt Disney World.
  • 1991 - Lesotho issues ten postage stamps depicting various Disney characters playing games.
  • 1991 - The two-hour Disney-produced film In the Nick of Time airs on TV.
  • 1994 - The Snow White's Adventures attraction re-opens in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, after a renovation.
  • 1996 - Guyana issues ten postage stamps depicting Snow White characters in Christmas scenes.

  • 1997 - Death of Lillian Bounds Disney dies at age 98; wife of Walt Disney, secretary of Walt Disney, donated $50 million to build a hall for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • 2009 - Death of Roy Edward Disney; assistant film editor, narration writer, director, producer, member of Board of Directors, vice chairman of the board, head of animation department.
