  • 1929 - The Mark Strand Theater in New York City premieres the Mickey Mouse film Plane Crazy, with a soundtrack.
  • 1931 - Columbia Pictures releases the Mickey Mouse film Traffic Troubles to theaters.
  • 1939 - The first Goofy film, Goofy and Wilbur, is released to theaters. Wilbur the grasshopper appears for the first time.
  • 1956 - The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awards an Emmy award (Best Action or Adventure Series, 1955) to the Walt Disney Studio for the Davy Crockett series on the Disneyland TV show.
  • 1956 - The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awards an Emmy Award (Best Producer of Filmed Series, 1955) to Walt Disney for the Disneyland TV show.
  • 1962 - The last Merry Menagerie comic strip is published in newspapers.
  • 1963 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, featuring Kidnapped, part one.
  • 1968 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, entitled The Ranger of Brownstone.
  • 1971 - Buena Vista releases the live-action feature film The Barefoot Executive to theaters. John Ritter makes his motion picture debut.
  • 1974 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, featuring Diamonds on Wheels, part two.
  • 1982 - The CBS TV network debuts the series Herbie, the Love Bug.
  • 1991 - The World News Center area opens in Communicore East at EPCOT Center.
  • 1995 - Disney releases the film Pinocchio on laserdisc in Japan, for 4841-15450 Yen.
  • 1995 - Disney releases Pinocchio - The Making of a Masterpiece on laserdisc in Japan.
  • 1996 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US.
    • An early film character "Itchy the Lucky Mouse" has a name similar to Walt Disney's "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit".
    • A black and white film from 1919 shows a mouse (Itchy) with double circle ears like Mickey Mouse.
    • A film is shown, "Steamboat Itchy" dated 1928, like Steamboat Mickey.

  • 1999 - The Test Track attraction opens in Future World in Epcot.
  • 2002 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A character eats a page from a childrens' book, then says "Well, it's easier to chew than that Bambi video.", likely referring to the Disney film.
  • 2005 - The Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters attraction opens in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
  • 2005 - The Cinderellabration show opens in front of the Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

  • 1909 - Birth of Ken Anderson in Seattle, Washington; worked on Disney animated films, Disneyland attractions, named a Disney Legend in 1991.
