  • 1964 - The New York World's Fair opens, for the 300th birthday of New York City. Walt Disney's WED company constructed pavilions for: Ford (Magic Skyway), General Electric (Progressland), the state of Illinois (Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln), and Pepsi-Cola / UNICEF (It's a Small World).
  • 1987 - The NBC TV network airs the pilot Our Planet Tonight.
  • 1990 - The Minnie's Surprise Birthday Party show in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World closes.
  • 1990 - The Mickey's Birthdayland area in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World closes.
  • 1991 - Grenada Grenadines issues eleven postage stamps depicting various Disney characters and ecology themes.
  • 1994 - Buena Vista Pictures releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film The Inkwell to theaters.
  • 1995 - The Empress Lilly riverboat closes in Walt Disney World. Three restaurants on the ship close: Steerman's Quarters, Fisherman's Deck, and the Empress Room.
  • 1997 - Hollywood Pictures Home Video releases the film The Rich Man's Wife on videocassette.
  • 1998 - Disney's Animal Kingdom opens to the public at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
  • 1998 - The Creature Comforts shop opens on Discovery Island in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1998 - Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures shop opens in DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1998 - The Boneyard playground opens in DinoLand U.S.A in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1998 - The Beastly Bazaar shop opens on Discovery Island in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1998 - The Countdown to Extinction attraction opens in DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1998 - The Walt Disney Company's board of directors approves a 3-for-1 split of the company's common stock.
  • 1998 - Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida opens at the Disney-MGM Studios.
  • 1998 - Comedy Central airs the South Park TV show in the USA.
    • An announcer on TV says "...so I guess we'll be going to our feature movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".
    • A scene of a group of people trapped by snow, forced to cannibalize three of themselves is a reference to the 1993 Disney film Alive.

  • 2009 - Disney's Nature film division releases the film Earth in theaters in the US and Canada.
  • 2010 - Disney releases the Disneynature film Oceans in theaters.
  • 2011 - The Disneynature documentary film African Cats is released to theaters in the USA.
  • 2015 - Disney releases the Marvel Studios film Avengers: Age of Ultron to theaters in Belgium and France.
  • 2022 - Disney releases documentary film Polar Bear.
