  • 1938 - The Mickey Mouse film Mickey's Trailer is released. Donald Duck and Goofy also appear.
  • 1940 - Walt Disney Studios completes its move to Burbank, California.
  • 1969 - Roger Broggie and Earl Vilmer of the Disney company arrange the purchase of five railroad engines in Yucatan, Mexico, for use in Walt Disney World. Price is US$32,750.
  • 1984 - The Disney Channel airs the Disney Channel Premiere Film Gone Are the Dayes.
  • 1985 - The Disney Channel premieres the Dumbo's Circus series.
  • 1987 - The City Council of Burbank, California, approves a Walt Disney Company proposed development of a theme park, studio attraction, hotel, and shopping mall on a 40-acre site in the city. Disney is granted two six-month options to purchase the property for US$1 million.
  • 1988 - The Norway pavilion opens in World Showcase in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It includes the Flording shop, Puffin's Roost shop, Kringla Bakeri og Kafe restaurant, and the Restaurant Akershus restaurant.
  • 1989 - NBC airs the 100th episode of Disney's The Golden Girls TV show.
  • 1989 - The Disney Channel begins airing the show Teen Win, Lose or Draw.
  • 1990 - The NBC TV network airs The Magical World of Disney show, entitled The Muppets at Walt Disney World.
  • 1991 - Grenada issues eleven postage stamps depicting various Disney characters in Japanese festivals.
  • 1991 - Grenada Grenadines issues twelve postage stamps depicting various Disney characters demonstrating Japanese arts, crafts, and industries.
  • 1991 - The Walt Disney Company is first listed in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
  • 1992 - The Philadelphia Orchestra Association files a US$60 million lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company and Buena Vista Home Video, claiming their consent was not sought in releasing the film Fantasia on video and laserdisc.
  • 1995 - The ABC TV network airs the Disney movie Freaky Friday, a remake of the 1976 film.
  • 2001 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US.
    • The episode title I'm Goin' to Praiseland is a reference to the Disney-sponsored line "I'm going to Disneyland".
    • At a theme park, an attraction is called King David's Wild Ride, a reference to the Disneyland attraction Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

  • 2009 - Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration officially opens in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 2011 - The Disney Channel debuts the A.N.T. Farm show.
  • 2016 - Disney releases the Marvel Pictures film Captain America: Civil War in theaters in the USA. Available in regular format, 3-D, and IMAX.
