  • 1928 - Work is completed on the film Plane Crazy.
  • 1928 - Walt Disney's first silent film featuring Mickey Mouse, Plane Crazy premieres as a sneak preview at a theatre on Sunset Boulevard, in Los Angeles, California. It cost US$1772.89 to make. Minnie Mouse also debuts.
  • 1930 - The Mickey Mouse film The Cactus Kid is released. It stars Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Peg Leg Pete.
  • 1935 - The third Mickey Mouse Magazine is first published, priced at 10 cents.
  • 1937 - The Silly Symphony film Little Hiawatha is released to theaters.
  • 1937 - Republic Pictures Corporation releases the film Michael O'Halloran to theaters. An excerpt from the Mickey Mouse cartoon Puppy Love is shown.
  • 1977 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, entitled Disney's Greatest Villains.
  • 1981 - Barbuda issues ten postage stamps depicting various Disney characters at sea.
  • 1984 - Ray Watson and Ron Miller have lunch with Sid Bass, who tries to convince the Disney executives that they have nothing to fear from doing business with him. Watson decides to proceed with the Arvida deal.
  • 1988 - The TV show Captain EO Backstage airs.
  • 1988 - The ABC TV network airs The Disney Sunday Movie, entitled Justin Case.
  • 1995 - The California Grill restaurant opens on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. Former name was Top of the World.
  • 1996 - Disney completes its purchase of 25 percent of the California Angels baseball team.
  • 1998 - Disney releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film The Horse Whisperer to theaters in the USA.
  • 2003 - IMAX Corporation releases the animated feature film The Lion King to theaters in the Czech Republic.
  • 2005 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US. A child refers to Plutarch. The dad says "Mickey Mouse's dog?".
  • 2008 - Disney Interactive Studios formally launches DGamer, a free avatar-based community for U.S. buyers of Disney-developed Nintendo DS.
  • 2008 - The Walt Disney Pictures / Walden Media film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is released to theaters in Chile, Indonesia, Russia, Korea, and the Ukraine.
  • 2016 - The Amorette's Patisserie shop opens at the Disney Springs Town Center at Walt Disney World.

  • 1994 - Death of Royal Dano at age 71 from a heart attack in a car accident; voice actor for Disneyland's President Abraham Lincoln animatronics.
