  • 1935 - The Silly Symphony film The Cookie Carnival is released to theaters.
  • 1938 - Work on the animated film Pluto's Robot Twin is canceled.
  • 1955 - Disney releases the live-action short film Arizona Sheepdog to theaters.
  • 1955 - Buena Vista releases Disney's live-action feature film Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier to theaters in the US. It is a compilation of the first three Davy Crockett episodes aired on TV.
  • 1981 - The Kindercare Center child-care facility opens at Walt Disney World.
  • 1983 - The newly renovated Fantasyland re-opens at Disneyland. The drawbridge of Sleeping Beauty Castle lowers for the second time.
  • 1983 - The Mickey's Christmas Chalet shop opens in Fantasyland at Disneyland.
  • 1983 - The Village Haus Restaurant opens in Fantasyland at Disneyland.
  • 1983 - The Pinocchio's Daring Journey ride opens in Fantasyland at Disneyland. Previous attraction in the location was Fantasyland Theater.
  • 1983 - The Village Inn opens in Fantasyland at Disneyland.
  • 1983 - The new Snow White's Scary Adventures ride opens in Fantasyland at Disneyland.
  • 1983 - Gepetto's Arts & Crafts shop opens in Fantasyland.
  • 1984 - Ray Chambers, of Gibson Greetings, meets with Disney executives to sell them on the idea of buying the company. Watson and Miller are impressed, but decide to first investigate the company.
  • 1984 - Reliance Group Holdings files a lawsuit in California Superior Court against Disney in an attempt to block the purchase of Arvida, claiming it "served no proper or valid corporate purpose".
  • 1984 - Saul Steinberg begins an attempt to buy 49.9 percent of Walt Disney Productions, a deal valued at US$1.2 billion.
  • 1985 - Filming begins on the first film of the Eisner-Wells regime, Jerry Saved from Drowning (later retitled Down and Out in Beverly Hills).
  • 1986 - The ABC TV network airs The Disney Sunday Movie, two films entitled Casebusters and My Town.
  • 1990 - The Here Come the Muppets musical revue show debuts at the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida.
  • 1990 - Buena Vista releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film Fire Birds to theaters.
  • 1994 - Paramount Pictures releases the film Beverly Hills Cop 3 to theaters in the USA. An amusement park in the film has several similarities to Disney parks.
    • An amusement theme park near Los Angeles is called Wonderworld.
    • The head of Wonderworld is Uncle Dave.
    • The park has a skyway ride.
    • The park uses Wonderworld dollars.

  • 2001 - Disney releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film Pearl Harbor to theaters in the USA. The premiere of the film is held on the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis in Honolulu. The film cost US$140 million to produce.
  • 2005 - The live musical Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story premieres aboard the Disney Magic.
  • 2007 - Diney releases the live-action feature film Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End to theaters in the USA.
  • 2007 - The Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island opens in Frontierland at Disneyland. The area was formerly called Tom Sawyer Island.
  • 2012 - The Walt Disney Pictures and UTV Motion Pictures animated film Arjun: The Warrior Prince is released to theaters in India and the USA.
  • 2012 - Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic ship begins cruises from New York City, north to Canada and south to the Bahamas.
  • 2016 - Disney world premieres the film Alice Through the Looking Glass in Italy.
