  • 1957 - Don DeFore's Silver Banjo Barbecue food facility opens in Frontierland at Disneyland.
  • 1959 - The live 90-minute TV special Disneyland '59 airs, introducing new attractions at Disneyland: Submarine Voyage, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Monorail, Motor Boat Cruise, and an enlarged Autopia.
  • 1960 - The Hallmark card shop opens on Main Street at Disneyland.
  • 1961 - The first Disneyland Grad Nite Party is held. About 8500 students attend from 28 Los Angeles schools, the largest high school graduation party ever in the US.
  • 1967 - The Club 33 restaurant opens at 33 Royal Street, in New Orleans Square, in Disneyland.
  • 1983 - The CBS TV network airs the sixth and last episode of the TV series Small and Frye.
  • 1984 - The Securities and Exchange Commission begins an investigation of trading in Disney stock on June 11.
  • 1987 - Redonda issues a set of postage stamps celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
  • 1987 - Sierra Leone issues ten postage stamps depicting Disney characters in Canada.
  • 1990 - The stage show Dick Tracy Starring in Diamond Double-Cross begins performances at Videopolis in Disneyland.
  • 1990 - The Patented Pastimes shop opens on Main Street in Disneyland.
  • 1990 - Buena Vista releases the Touchstone Pictures animated Roger Rabbit film Roller Coaster Rabbit to theaters.
  • 1990 - Buena Vista releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film Dick Tracy to theaters. The film cost US$47 million to produce and US$54 million in marketing.
  • 1991 - The Studio Pizzeria restaurant opens in the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park at Walt Disney World.
  • 1994 - Buena Vista Pictures pre-releases the Walt Disney Pictures animated feature film The Lion King to selected theatres in new York and Los Angeles.
  • 1999 - Touchstone Home Video releases the film Enemy of the State on videocassette.
  • 2001 - Disney generally releases the Walt Disney Pictures animated feature film Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire to theaters in the USA. The film cost US$90 million to produce.
  • 2001 - The Atwater Ink & Paint shop opens on Buena Vista Streey at Disney California Adventure.
  • 2009 - Disney XD Original Series Disney Zeke and Luther premieres.
  • 2012 - The Buena Vista Street area opens at Disney California Adventure.
  • 2012 - The Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream restaurant opens on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.
  • 2012 - The Big Top Toys shop opens on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.
  • 2012 - The Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge opens on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.
  • 2012 - The Cars Land area opens in Disney California Adventure. Attractions: Luigi's Flying Tires, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Radiator Springs Racers. Restaurants: Cozy Cone Motel, Flo's V8 Café, Fillmore's Taste-In. Shops: Ramone's House of Body Art, Radiator Springs Curios.

  • 1917 - Birth of Bill Martin in Iowa; moviemaker at 20th Century Fox, Disney Studios, Imagineers, extensive work on Disneyland, vice president of design 1971-77, planned Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland, named Disney Legend 1994.
  • 1949 - Birth of Jim Varney in Lexington, Kentucky, USA; actor (Ernest P. Worrell in commercials, Ernest Goes to Camp).
