- 1940 - Disney's first Pluto film, Bone Trouble, is released to theaters. Butch, the bulldog, debuts.
- 1946 - The Donald Duck film Donald's Double Trouble is released to theaters. Daisy Duck also appears.
- 1974 - Disney holds a press debut of the America Sings attraction in the carousel theater in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
- 1984 - The Disney Channel premieres the series Big Bands at Disneyland.
- 1988 - Disney's Grand Floridian Beach Resort hotel opens in Walt Disney World, on the west shore of Seven Seas Lagoon. It includes Flagler's restaurant, 1900 Park Fare restaurant, M. Mouse Mercantile shop, Narcoossee's restaurant, Victoria and Albert's restaurant, Commander Porter's shop, and Grand Floridian Cafe restaurant.
- 1989 - Sotheby's auction house in New York City holds its first contemporary animation auction, based on Disney's film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. 600 animation cels from the film are sold.
- 1991 - The Mickey's Star Traders shop opens in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
- 1995 - The Main Street Athletic Company shop opens on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
