  • 1989 - Michael Eisner announces that Disney plans to double the size of the entertainment area of the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park over three years. The park currently has a maximum guest capacity of 23,000.
  • 1991 - Disney generally releases the film The Doctor to theaters.
  • 1995 - In Aspen, Colorado, over three days, 36 Disney executives gather to brainstorm ideas for a second Anaheim-based theme park, next to Disneyland. The result is a plan for Disney's California Adventure.
  • 1995 - Theme parks at Walt Disney World have a delayed opening, at 11:00 AM, due to Hurricane Erin threatening the area.
  • 1999 - The Disney Wonder cruise ship arrives at Port Canaveral, Florida, from Italy, where it was built.
  • 2001 - In Burbank, California, Disney renames its Soundstage 2 to The Julie Andrews Stage.
  • 2002 - Disney releases the Touchstone Pictures film Signs to theaters in the US.
