- 1935 - The Mickey Mouse film Pluto's Judgement Day is released to theaters. Pluto also appears.
- 1938 - Walt and Roy Disney pay a US$10,000 deposit on a US$100,000 51 acre property on Buena Vista Street in Burbank, for a new studio.
- 1948 - Walt returns to the studio after a 10-day trip visiting the Chicago Railroad Fair and Henry Ford's Greenfield Village collection of buildings. Walt Disney sends a memo to Dick Kelsey, a production designer. He describes an idea for "Mickey Mouse Park", with Main Village, Railroad Station, Carnival Section, Western Village, with various shops and restaurants.
- 1951 - Disney releases the Goofy film Get Rich Quick to theaters.
- 1960 - The Bathroom of Tomorrow exhibit at Disneyland closes.
- 1965 - The U.S. Forest Service announces it has received six bids to develop a ski resort on Mineral King in California. A proposal from Disney is one of two leading candidates. Disney's US$35 million proposal includes up to 27 chair lifts with capacity for 11,400 seats per hour, hotels for up to 3000 guests, and ten-story underground parking for 3600 cars.
- 1973 - Ward Kimball retires from the Disney company.
- 1985 - At 5:00 PM, the Walt Disney World Resort closes, due to the advancing Hurricane Elena.
- 1990 - The 570th and last episode of the show Win, Lose, or Draw is aired in syndication.
- 1991 - The ABC TV network airs the last episode of the animated series New Kids on the Block.
- 1992 - The American Journeys file ceases to be shown in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland.
- 1993 - Jeffrey Katzenberg officially informs Michael Eisner that he may leave Disney in a year's time.
- 1994 - Trading in Euro Disney stock is temporarily suspended for 15 minutes on the Paris stock exchange. The stock price had fallen to less than US$2.
- 1994 - Ron Dominguez retires from Disneyland, after 39 years, working since opening day.
- 1994 - Disney releases the film Blank Check on laserdisc for US$40.
- 1998 - The Disney animated TV series Disney's Doug is released to syndication.
- 2004 - Buena Vista Home Entertainment releases the animated feature film The Lion King 2 - Simba's Pride on videotape and DVD in the USA.
- 2008 - The Art of Animation display opens in Hong Kong Disneyland.
- 2009 - The Walt Disney Company agrees to buy Marvel Entertainment for US$4 billion.
- 2009 - The Walt Disney Company announces enhancements to its Castaway Cay private island in the Bahamas, extending the Castaway Family Beach by more than 700 feet, with a new family lunch buffet location, new beverage bar, new beach rental location, new merchandise location, new 2400 square-foot water feature called Pelican Plunge, new 2400 square-foot water play area on land called Spring-a-Leak, new 1200 square-foot soft wet deck for youngsters, 20 new private beach cabanas, new Hide Out area for teens, new In Da Shade Game Pavilion, and three new massage cabanas at Serenity Bay Beach.
