  • 1938 - The Mickey Mouse film Mickey's Parrot is released. Pluto also appears.
  • 1941 - Roy Disney agrees to settle the employees' strike via binding arbitration.
  • 1973 - The Carousel of Progress attraction at Disneyland closes.
  • 1979 - The NBC TV network begins airing the TV show Disney's Wonderful World. Former name for the show was The Wonderful World of Disney.
  • 1982 - Group W Satellite Communications and Walt Disney Productions dissolve a joint venture to establish a pay-TV system.
  • 1984 - The Circle-Vision 360 film America the Beautiful closes at Walt Disney World.
  • 1987 - Grenada issues sixty postage stamps depicting scenes from films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan.
  • 1988 - Tokyo Disneyland welcomes its 60-millionth guest.
  • 1988 - Tanzania issues ten postage stamps depicting various Disney characters.
  • 1989 - The ABC TV network begins airing Disney's Gummi Bears / Winnie the Pooh Hour.
  • 1990 - The NBC TV network airs The Magical World of Disney show, for the last time. The film Polly is shown.
  • 1991 - The Disney Channel premieres the series Secret Bodyguard.
  • 1991 - Disney and Paramount Pictures announce they will jointly produce a film based on the book "Alive" about a rugby team's plane crash in the Andes Mountains.
  • 1997 - Buena Vista Home Video releases the film The War at Home on videocassette.
  • 2001 - The Tapestry of Nations parade ends in Epcot.
  • 2001 - The Country Bear Playhouse in Bear Country at Disneyland closes.
  • 2003 - Disney releases the film Sleeping Beauty on DVD for US$29.99 in the US.

  • 1920 - Birth of Wally Boag in Portland, Oregon, USA; performer at Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe Revue about 40,000 times from 1955 to 1982, actor in The Absent-Minded Professor, The Love Bug, voice of Jose parrot in Enchanted Tiki Room, named a Disney Legend in 1995.
