  • 1936 - The Mickey Mouse film Donald and Pluto is released to theaters. Donald Duck and Pluto star, without Mickey Mouse.
  • 1941 - The Donald Duck film Old Macdonald Duck is released to theaters.
  • 1947 - The Donald Duck film Wide Open Spaces is released.
  • 1956 - The ABC TV network begins airing the third season of the Disneyland show, featuring "Antarctica, Past and Present".
  • 1958 - The ABC TV network premieres the Walt Disney Presents TV show, on Friday nights, 8:00 to 9:00. The show was previously titled Disneyland and aired on Wednesday nights.
  • 1976 - The America on Parade parade ends at Disneyland.
  • 1984 - (8:00 AM) Michael Eisner meets with Ray Watson and board member Philip Hawley, to try to convince Hawley that Eisner is the right choice for Disney's CEO.
  • 1984 - Michael Eisner resigns from Paramount Pictures. Barry Diller asks him to join him at Twentieth Century Fox. ABC asks him to join them and create a film division. Eisner turns down all offers, waiting for developments at Disney.
  • 1986 - The 3-D film Captain Eo, starring Michael Jackson, opens in the Magic Eye Theater in EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. It cost over US$17 million to produce, making it the most costly movie to date, at about US$1 million per minute. Lucasfilm provided more than 150 special effects for the 17-minute movie.
  • 1987 - The last episode of The Ellen Burstyn Show airs.
  • 1987 - The Fox TV networks airs the last episode of Down and Out in Beverly Hills.
  • 1992 - The CBS TV network airs the first show of Disney's The Little Mermaid, entitled Whale of a Tail.
  • 1992 - The ABC TV network begins airing episodes of Goof Troop.
  • 1992 - The CBS TV network begins airing the animated TV series Raw Toonage.
  • 1992 - The NBC TV network airs the last episode of The Golden Girls.
  • 1992 - The film Beauty and the Beast is released to theaters in Japan.
  • 1994 - Disney's syndicated TV show Judge for Yourself first airs.
  • 2003 - Disney releases the Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film Cold Creek Manor to theaters in the US.
  • 2005 - In Hong Kong, China, Hong Kong Disneyland park opens. Michael Eisner and China's vice president Zeng Qinghong attend the opening.
  • 2005 - The Comet Café food court opens in Tomorrowland in Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • 2005 - The Chopin's Festival of Foods food court opens in Fantasyland in Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • 2005 - The Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters attraction opens in Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • 2005 - The Cinderella Carousel opens in Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • 2005 - Hong Kong issues six postage stamps depicting the grand opening of Hong Kong Disneyland. Characters include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Dumbo, Simba and Nala, and Pluto.
  • 2006 - Apple Computer announces the iTunes movie store, initially with 75 Disney company movies for download. Prices range from US$10 to 16 per film.
  • 2008 - The Disney Channel airs the final Cory in the House TV series.
  • 2009 - At Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announces Fantasyland at Walt Disney World will undergo an extensive transformation and expansion, tripling in size by 2013.
