  • 1941 - The strike at the Disney studio officially ends.
  • 1955 - The ABC TV network begins airing the second season of the Disneyland TV show, featuring the film Dumbo.
  • 1955 - Disney re-releases the animated short film Peter and the Wolf to theaters. It was originally released as part of the film Make Mine Music.
  • 1955 - Disney releases the True-Life Adventure film The African Lion to theaters in the US.
  • 1964 - US President Lyndon Johnson presents Walt Disney with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, for a lifetime of achievement.
  • 1969 - The NBC TV network airs the The Wonderful World of Disney show, featuring Wild Geese Calling.
  • 1975 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, featuring The Boy Who Talked to Badgers, part one. This is the premiere for this season, with the air date changed from 7:30-8:30 PM to 7:00-8:00 PM.
  • 1979 - Eleven more animators leave Disney. The group forms the new studio of Sullivan and Bluth.
  • 1980 - The Mickey Mouse Revue attraction in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World closes.
  • 1984 - The Disney committee responsible for screening potential new CEOs meets. After two hours, they have not settled on one candidate. Some favor Dennis Stanfill, some favor Frank Wells or Michael Eisner.
  • 1984 - Irwin Jacobs announces that he now owns 7.7 percent of Disney stock.
  • 1984 - Irwin Jacobs announces that he will attempt a takeover of Disney.
  • 1985 - The CBS TV network begins airing the animated weekly show The Wuzzles.
  • 1985 - The NBC TV network begins airing the animated weekly TV show Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
  • 1985 - The NBC TV network begins airing the Disney show The Golden Girls.
  • 1991 - The Main Street Electrical Parade makes its last run in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1991 - The NBC TV network debuts the series Nurses.
  • 1993 - The Fox TV network first airs the Disney show Bakersfield P.D..
  • 1994 - Buena Vista Pictures makes a limited release of the Hollywood Pictures live-action feature film Quiz Show in theaters in New York.
  • 1994 - General Electric offers to sell 49% of NBC TV to Disney. Michael Eisner initially agrees, but later in the day decides it is not a good deal to take.
  • 1999 - Buena Vista Home Video releases the film God Said Ha! on videocassette.
  • 1999 - Buena Vista Home Video releases the film Children of Heaven on videocassette.
  • 1999 - At 2:00 PM in Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot close early, due to Hurricane Floyd approaching the Central Florida coastline. Other areas close at 3:00 PM.
  • 2002 - The ABC TV network begins airing the show Fillmore.
  • 2005 - Disney releases the film Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch on videocassette and DVD in France.
  • 2010 - (to November 1) Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom hosts "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party".
  • 2012 - Disney releases the film Barfi! to theaters in India and the USA.
