  • 1987 - Minnesota Twins beat Detroit Tigers for American League pennant.
  • 1989 - Herschel Walker is traded from Dallas Cowboys to Minnesota Vikings for 12 players.
  • 2003 - Michael Schumacher wins the 2003 FIA Formula One World Championship in Suzuka, Japan, beating Kimi Räikkönen to the title.
  • 2019 - At the Road Atlanta raceway in Braselton, Georgia, USA, the Motul Petit Le Mans race is held, round 12 of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship series.
    • Finishing 1st in DPi class and 1st overall is the Whelen Engineering Racing #31 Cadillac DPi driven by Felipe Nasr, Eric Curran, and Pipo Derani.
    • Finishing 1st in GT Le Mans class and 10th overall is the Risi Competizione #62 Ferrari 488 GTE driven by James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and Daniel Serra.
    • Finishing 1st in GT Daytona class and 18th overall is the Turner Motorsport #96 BMW M6 GT3 driven by Bill Auberlen, Robby Foley, and Dillon Machavern.

  • 2021 - At T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, NHL regular season game: Vegas Golden Knights beats Seattle Kraken by score 4-3.
  • 2021 - At Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, USA, NHL regular season game: Pittsburgh Penguins beats Tampa Bay Lightning by score 6-2.
