  • 1998 - WNBA begins filling rosters of Washington Mystics and Detroit Shock.
  • 2001 - A plane crashes 40 miles east of Denver, Colorado, killing two players of the Oklahoma State University basketball team, six team staffers, and the two-person crew.
  • 2005 - Lance Berkman agrees to a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Houston Astros.
  • 2006 - The Kansas City Royals unveil new uniforms with a more traditional look, with script lettering on the front and its crown logo on the sleeves.
