  • 2003 - AC Milan defeats fellow Italian rival Juventus 3-2 on penalties after a scoreless tie to win the UEFA Champions League, their sixth European title.
  • 2006 - At AT&T Park, Barry Bonds passes Babe Ruth for number of home runs as he hits the 715th homer of his Major League career. Bonds is now in second place, behind Hank Aaron.
