  • 1983 - India wins the Prudential Cup (Cricket World Cup).
  • 1988 - The Netherlands defeats the Soviet Union 2-0 to win Euro 88.
  • 1999 - The San Antonio Spurs defeat the New York Knicks 78-77 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to take home the title in a strike-shortened season.
  • 2010 - Edwin Jackson throws 149 pitches in a no-hitter, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 1-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
