  • 1941 - The Federal Communications Commission agrees to let regular scheduling of TV broadcasts by commercial TV stations begin on July 1.
  • 1965 - The "Early Bird" satellite is used to transmit television pictures across the Atlantic Ocean.
  • 2003 - Fox releases the film X2: X-Men United to theaters.
  • 2008 - Marvel Entertainment releases the film Iron Man to theaters in the USA. Marvel produced the film itself, at a cost of about US$150 million plus US$75 million in marketing.
  • 2023 - About 11,500 film and television writers of the Writers Guild of America go on strike in the USA; previous strike was 15 years ago.
