- The Royal Canadian Mint supplies four gold-plated $1 coins to Bell Centre, Montreal, for permanent display at Centennial Plaza. The coins are a version of the nickel aureate circulating $1 coin, with design featuring the 100th anniversary logo of the Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey team. The coins are embedded in four memorial plaques to legendary members of the team. The plaques also include two circulating 5-cent coins marking the start and end of each player's career. [954.1]
