  • The Riksdag meets. The lower Estates demand a return of land to the crown, and an investigation of the Regency; the King supports both initiatives. 1682

  • As a result of a commission set up in 1680, members of the Council from the Regency period are dismissed. Those acting as regents are heavily fined. The Crown regains land overseas, and land within Sweden given away since 1500. [47.107]
  • The King is given full control over reclaiming land, and over matters of legislation. [47.108]
  • Sweden joins an alliance with Austria. [48.214]
  • Salvaging of cannon from the sunken Kronan commences. Sixty cannon are salvaged by 1686. [226.462]

April 19

  • Denmark and Sweden renew and extend their alliance of 1679. [48.214]

  • Sweden and Denmark join a League of Armed Neutrality. [47.109] [268.138]

1692

  • Johann Reinhold Patkul, a nobleman of Livonia, protests to the King about the Reduction of land to the crown. He is forced to flee the country to escape arrest, and is condemned to death. [47.114]

1693

  • Denmark and Sweden again renew and extend their alliance of 1679. [48.214]
November 20
  • In Stockholm, a Resolution of the Riksdag acknowledges the absolute power of the sovereign King and his heirs. [3.89] [47.108]

  • Christopher Polhem founds the first technical school in Sweden, a mechanical laboratory. [48.198]
