Newfoundland

1-cent stamp depicts map of Newfoundland, but has labeled Cape Bauld above Cape Norman, when they should be the other way around. A corrected stamp was issued in 1929. The Strait of Belle Isle is sometimes called the "Straits" of Belle Isle as this stamp is captioned.

20-franc stamp depicting the Pont du Gard aquaduct does not contain as many small arches in the top row as the real aquaduct.

6-centavo airmail stamp depicts a plane high in the air with three engines, all of them apparently stalled.

6th Pan American Congress for Child Welfare.
2-, 5-, 10-, and 50-centavo postage stamps are inscribed "SEPTIMO" (7th) in error.

1930 October 21

Italy

15-, 20-, 25-, 30-, 50-, 75-centesimi and 1-lira regular stamps, and 5+1.50-lira and 10+2.50-lira semi-postal stamps mark the 200th aniversary of the birth of Virgil (Publius Vergilius Maro) in 70 B.C.; but 2000 years from 30 B.C. is 1931 A.D. (there is no "0" year).

2- and 6-lev stamp depict Queen Ioanna, the same portrait as used on the 1- and 4-lev stamps but flipped left-right.

Philippines

18-cent stamp depicts a waterfall with caption "Pagsanjan Falls", intending to show Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna, Luzon, Phillippines; what actually appears on the stamp is Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park, California, USA.

Newfoundland

350th anniversary of the annexation of Newfoundland by Sir Humphrey Gilbert on behalf of Queen Elizabeth I.
9-cent depicts nine ships arriving at Saint John's, but there should be only four, as the Bark Ralegh returned to port two days out from Plymouth.

Italy

10-centesimi through 1.25-lira stamps depict Mussolini monument, but with the lettering running up the statue rather then down.

1-drachma stamp is denominated in plural, ending "MAI" instead of "MH".

5- through 75-centimo airmail stamps depict an airplane in flight with immobile propellor.

6-groschen stamp depicts a man with ears that appear to have been drawn on backwards. The stamp is re-issued in 1935 with the ears corrected.

3+2-pfennig semi-postal stamp depicts a businessman holding a cordless telephone.

Ceylon

2-cent stamp depicts tapping rubber tree, but real rubber trees show no above ground roots. The image was redrawn for re-issue in 1938.

Kenya Uganda Tanganyika

5-cent stamp depicts a dhow boat, with the left rope not quite touching the sail at the top. A corrected version was issued.

30-cent stamp depicts Jinja Bridge, but omits carriage-way below rail bridge on left side, which was later included in 1942 re-issue.

15-centime semi-postal stamp depicts a journalist reading a newspaper, with the title printed on the last page, rather than the first.
