Saint Lucia

1-penny and 6-pence stamps misspell "COLOMBUS SQUARE", the second "O" should be a "U". This is corrected in the 1938 issue. 2 1/2-pence stamp depicts Columbus Square in Castries, mislabelled "COLOMBUS". The name was corrected on next issue in 1948.

85-centime through 50-franc airmail stamps depict a plane with no tail rudder for left-right movement control.

France

90-centime stamp commemorates the 300th anniversary of René Descartes' Discours de la Méthode, with wrong caption containing "SUR LA". A corrected stamp is issued in under a month.

Italy

1.25-lira stamp marks the 600th anniversary of the death of Giotto di Bondone, but pictures Giovanni Boccaccio.

10-lepta stamp depicting Lady of Tiryns includes misspelled caption that reads "TYPIN" instead of "TIPYN". A corrected stamp was issued in 1938.

1-zloty stamp depicts Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Thomas Paine, and George Washington from the 1700s, holding the American flag of 1938 (48 stars).

1 1/2-pence stamp depicts an outrigger canoe with no one sailing it; a corrected stamp in 1940 added a man in the canoe.

6 stamps (65-centime through 50-franc, 1938-40) depict a floatplane over New Caledonia, casting a shadow several multiples larger than the plane itself.

1-peseta stamp has the denomination abbreviated "PTS" which is plural, instead of the correct "PTA".

5c+5c stamp depicts Gottfried Keller with year of birth 1818 in error, fixed and re-issued with correct year 1819.

Germany

4+3-pfennig semi-postal stamp depicts the town hall of Thorn, but the image is flipped left-right (statue should be left of center, entrance doors should be on left side).

Monaco

5- and 10-franc airmail stamps depict the shadow of a plane on the Earth way too big.

Norway

15- and 20-ore stamps depict author Johan Herman Wessel, with middle name misspelled "Hermann".

1942 November 21

Colombia

10-centavo stamp of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Wisconsin has date "2. XI. 1902" instead of the correct "21. XI. 1902". A corrected stamp was issued.

1944 September 1

Switzerland

20-centime airmail stamp depicts Swissair Fokker VII b tri-motor aircraft bearing registration number 157. Swissair tri-motor aircraft existed with registration numbers 162-66, 190, and 192-3, not 157. There was a Fokker VII a with registration number 157, but it was single-engined.

1944 October 9

France

1.50-franc stamp denominated "1.50 francs", corrected in 1945 to "1.50 franc". The original was printed in the USA, so this may just be a difference in pluralization style.
